REQUIREMENTS FOR MARRIAGE IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

I am getting married in Dominican Republic. What documents do I need to bring with me.

To register marriage in Dominican Republic both, bride and groom, need to properly prepare several important documents beforehand. If you are doing it for the first time and by yourself it may cause additional stress at the time of preparation of marriage which by itself is a huge stress. We are here to help to ease the pains of documents preparation and coordination with the government agencies and the consulate. To start we need that both – bride and groom provide us with the following documents:

• Copies of their valid passports that will be used to enter Dominican Republic.
• Originals of the Birth Certificates (either credit card or long form is sufficient).
• Original Single Status Affidavit from each, certified by the notary public (if bride and groom visit our Toronto office, then the Affidavits are prepared and notarized right on the spot).

Processing of the above mentioned documents will take 3 weeks and will cost CAD498 +HST.

Important notes:

• Once prepared your documents are valid for 3 months only.
• In case of one or both parties been married before Divorce or Death Certificate must be provided. There is additional charge of CAD198 + HST per certificate.
• Currently we are not able to assist in case of marriage to Dominican, residing in Dominican Republic.
